Brainwashing success

Scene: Grocery store checkout.

Cashier 1: Oh, what a pretty girl. What pretty blue eyes you have.

Cashier 2: Oh, you're right! What pretty blue eyes.

Sasha, politely: Thank you.

Cashier 2, brightly: What a nice girl. Do you know who's coming to your house soon?

Sasha, to parents, excitedly: Can Kevin come over to my house? But not his dog. Is Kevin coming?

Apologies

I'm doing a really bad job of keeping up here lately, and if I tell you it's for a good reason, I just hope you'll believe me. :)

A couple of months ago, I changed jobs, and now I work as an alternate reality game producer at Mind Candy working on Perplex City. It's been a terrific personal and creative challenge, and I'm unbelievably happy there. I could get very gushy and overenthusiastic about it, but I won't. I've also started a new career-related blog to to work out some of the muddle I have in my head about gaming and issues related to gaming -- Deus Ex Machinatio. Mix in the novel I'm trying to finish by year-end, the ongoing treadmill of housework and personal upkeep, and oh, yeah, there's my family that needs me.

Oh, plus the chorus and its concerts and the rearranging of all of the furniture on my house because I am utterly mad and the bit with Grandpa Dave and Grandma Gwynne coming to visit.

You can see why things here have been a little slow. I think I just might be overcommitted...

At any rate, I'll try to keep you more up on your cute Sasha stories and etc. in the future. Really. I swear.
