Hoppity!

Hoppity joined our family in the unambiguous form of a girl named Maya about two weeks ago. I'm working on a birth story, hopefully I'll have it up by the end of the week, for those of you interested in the specifics. For everyone else, the pictures along the side should be good enough.

And do you know what? I feel *magnificent* compared to the whole last few months. I am myself again. I have energy! And no heartburn! I can concentrate! It's gratifying to know I really wasn't kidding myself about how much I'd feel up to at this point. Of course, as great as I feel it's very hard to "take it easy" like you're supposed to; and I know I still need to because when I don't, my body gives me some alarming warning signals that I shall not disclose on these pages. It's really disconcerting.

Sasha is, as expected, a dream with the baby. She's not exhibiting jealousy so far, and her main fault is in wanting to shower the baby with hugs and kisses (and preschooler germs.) I think it helps a lot that my dad is here to play with her Dora house and play tag in the back yard; and by the time he leaves I should be really OK instead of feeling OK and not being really. Things are working out so far... :)

My kitchen is: perfectly adequate, thank you very much.
